The National Disaster Risk Management Council (NDRMC) chaired by the Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, held an emergency Council Meeting yesterday at Jamaica House to address the threat posed by Hurricane Matthew.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management (ODPEM), has received reports from the the Meteorological Service that Tropical Storm Matthew was formed near the eastern Caribbean this morning.

As a direct result of the passage of Tropical Storm Earl, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is urging persons to remain vigilant as a Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Jamaica.

Representatives from the National Disaster Risk Management Council (NDRMC), briefed Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness and his Cabinet on the severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm Earl, at a briefing held at Jamaica House on Tuesday, August 2, 2016
